Ingredients
4 boneless chicken thighs
2 chipotle peppers, 2 tbsp adobo sauce
1 tbsp harissa
garlic powder
salt
pepper
3 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp lime zest
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 sage leaves
4 garlic cloves
3 cups chicken broth
3 tbsp tomato paste
Directions
In a large skillet, add olive oil and sear your chicken thighs on both sides over medium heat.
Once your chicken has a nice crispy crust, remove and place in a large pot over medium heat.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cinnamon.
Add lime juice, zest, harissa, chipotle peppers, tomato paste, adobo sauce, and garlic cloves. Stir until combined.
Pour your chicken broth, and ensure enough to cover the chicken.
Add your sage leaves and cover your pot.
Turn your heat to medium-low, and let your chicken braise for an hour.
After an hour, check to see if your chicken requires more broth. You’ll know it’s ready once the chicken begins to pull apart and form shreds.
